    @fontana, # wrote !LGPL evidence 1 & 2 are unsourced speculation;As for 3,many parts of LGPLv2 seem like #, which I know @rms wrote

    @fontana, please make available your evidence that # authored # (I watched you co-author !LGPLv3, BTW)

    @clacke, http://ur1.ca/4ymrn is a great find! It shows at least some were skeptical early about #' proprietary relicensing model.

    !ds2011: @nearyd: Softway 6-8 person months work on # Went to # to get stuff upstream. Cygnus quoted $120k w/ 14 months lead time.

    @cwebber, I think that some non-public companies are ok w/ that, but the # story is !disturbing, as they were profitable & not public.

    @copiesofcopies, Even # got frustrated w/ "billable hours only" nature of !FaiF. That e.g. really shows the common "profit obsession".

    @ssmoogen,one view of # is that it was an NDA laundering operation: sign NDAs 1st,then convince chipset vendors to allow code upstream

    @ssmoogen, IIUC, NDA work was for chipset specs. # signed those & pushed code upstream to GCC w/ permission from chipset vendors.

    @fontana, unfortunately my only understanding of #' model is from devs' stories & #'s descriptions. ∃ canonical source of info?

    @fontana, IMO #' "you pay by num of phone calls we accept" is easily !GPL compliant (what does GPL care about when you answer phone?)

    @ssmoogen,ISTR # had profitable "restriction by num of employees who can make support calls" model. #'s hack broke that for #

    @fontana,that's disingenuous! Even if # created # business model, !RedHat continues them & it's fully RH responsibility now

    @fontana,Used to; I learned more in last yr to be more skeptical re: # AFAICT lots of # stuff was tried but didn't succeed
